TE AUAHA

Completed

The first phase of the Cuba Precinct development delivered a brand new 9,000sqm commercial space in the former Deka building which has been leased by Whitireia WelTec and fitted out as its flagship creative arts campus, known as Te Auaha. The campus opened its doors to students in early 2018.

The first-floor heritage façade has been strengthened and retained as part of the development and the building’s structure is designed to the seismic requirements for an Importance Level 3 building, which is effectively equivalent to 130% of those required for a typical office building.

The building also incorporates 745sqm of ground floor retail space, which is fully leased to Barkers Menswear, Cotton On and Vodafone.
